Today an exciting drive with a professional local guide takes us to the most popular tourist site among all monasteries in Bulgaria - Rila Monastery. Just two hours of driving and we are in front of the entire complex which is quite impressive for its size and decoration. Rila Monastery is a UNESCO site. The monastery’s most treasured historic and artistic monuments include the 14th century Hrelyo Tower, the five-domed Birth of the Blessed Virgin Church and the original monastery kitchen from the 19th century.
